Gap Between Rich and Poor Wider Under Labour

A new report from The National Equality panel  report delivered a devastating verdict on Labour’s 13 years in office, with the gap between rich and poor widening to its widest level since the Second World War.

Despite the billions of pounds poured into anti-poverty drives by Labour the report found that the children of the poor still lead much harder and shorter lives than those of the rich.

Britain is now one of the world’s most divided countries with children born into a wealthy family having far more advantages than those who are not.

The study also found that white working class men in their early 50s had seen the biggest fall in their earning power over the last decade.

Royston Smith said “It is clear that despite billions spent, Labour have failed to improve people’s lives. What is needed is a fresh approach, tackling long term unemployment, boosting aspiration and strengthening families and communities.”
